I founded the business that would become Ovation in 1998, with a strong vision to help clients work out ‘how much is enough?’ for them. To help people work out what they wanted from life, then focus their money on that. All these years later and Ovation delivers planning and advice in a way that makes me and our wonderful team very proud.
I sold a majority of the ownership of Ovation to an Employee Ownership Trust in 2018, and the employees have taken over the helm and continue to deliver based on that same purpose that I started with all those years ago. I continue as Chairman, and look forward to being applauded into the auditorium at the age of 81 when we celebrate our 50th anniversary!
I play the guitar, and the very first ‘proper’ guitar was an Ovation Legend, which gave the company its name.
I am married to Susie, an Oncology nurse, and we have been together since our early 20’s; we have two children who are getting older fast and are rapidly approaching the next stage of their lives.
In 2010 I made a major decision that I would not work at Ovation on Wednesdays. Instead I spent my time writing. I have published two novels and two business books all available on Amazon.
