Ovation Investment Service

Introduction

The Ovation Investment Service is designed to establish an asset allocation template, around which investment decisions are based. This means spreading the investments around a variety of asset classes (equities, property, fixed interest, etc), in order to reduce risk and protect performance.

Once the asset allocation has been agreed, specific funds and investments are selected within each asset class. The performance of both the sectors and individual investments are reviewed on an annual basis.

This activity takes place under the umbrella of the wrap platform provided by Ascentric. For more information on wrap platforms, please see our FAQs on how they work, and on Ascentric in particular.

Once the portfolio is set up, clients can view their investments on line, by logging in through this page. Of course, although it is useful to be able look at the performance of one's investments, it is important to remember that we are investing for the medium to long term. A short term gain - or loss - in a particular fund does not necessarily mean that any action should be taken. The mechanism for change, if any change is needed, is the annual review, and one must avoid knee jerk reactions to market changes, as predicting market movements is a notoriously difficult business. However, if you would like to make any changes to your portfolio at any time throughout the year, please do not hesitate to contact us.
