Who we are
Ovation started trading in January 2000 as a fee based, services orientated IFA practice. The company is named after a make of guitar, and our website in the early years featured cartoons of sheep (see below), a strategy that had to be put on hold when foot and mouth disease became widespread!
At the time, focussing on service and long term relationships when giving financial advice was highly innovative, indeed, it is not exactly commonplace even now. In a world that is weary of the smoke and mirrors of the financial world, and cynical of the sales pitch, our focus on getting to know our clients and working together over the years is often greeted by our clients as a refreshing change.
We have grown over the years by adding staff only when there is additional work to be done, and by taking on new clients and losing few. Initially from one room in offices in Chandos Road, Bristol, we moved to larger premises in Whiteladies Road in March 2007. As you will see from clicking on the links above, our staff have worked here for a number of years, and we always strive to make work fun, both between ourselves, and, where appropriate, in our dealings with clients.
There is one other facet of Ovation which is very important, and that is we believe that life is about more than money. Although we take very seriously the advice we give, and strive at all times to ensure that we look after our clients’ funds entirely in accordance with their profile, we also help guide clients through important moments in life, be that the sale of a business, retirement, or the death of someone close. In addition to our expertise and technical knowledge, we try and bring a perspective which often helps us guide clients in dealing with their wealth to the maximum benefit.
